1899The National University of Tainan was founded on 1899 as "Tainan Teachers School".

1962"Tainan Teachers School" which has been restructured and reframed comprehensively from teaching-oriented to diverse-developing by five times of transitions in the year of 1962 to 1991.

1992Department of Music was established in 1992 which is affiliated with 4-year undergraduate programs (Night program included) and 2-year graduate programs (On-the-Job Program included).

2004Then it upgraded to the university-level and officially renamed as "National University of Tainan" in 2004.
